Located in the heart of Paris on the Champ de Mars, the Eiffel Tower stands as one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Constructed between 1887 and 1889 for the World’s Fair commemorating the French Revolution’s centennial, it was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel and his team. Despite initial criticism of its industrial appearance, the “Iron Lady” has become a symbol of French innovation and elegance.

Remarkable features

Current height: 330 meters, (1,083 feet) thanks to the addition of broadcasting antennas.

Weight: Approx. 10,100 tonnes.

Construction: Comprising over 18,000 metal parts assembled by 2.5 million rivets.
